data source

What is a data source?

Description

A data source can be a file, database, or service that provides data i.e., the location where data resides or the source that generates it.

In the world of NXLog

When putting data sources in the context of NXLog, you can think of them as the sources from which you collect logs. For example, applications, devices, servers, and other systems within your enterprise infrastructure that generate logs. Logs from various sources are usually aggregated in a central repository, such as a SIEM or log management solution for processing and analysis.

In NXLog terms, the input modules collect logs from data sources.
