Purge logs

You can purge logs you do not need anymore. NXLog Platform supports purging logs on two levels: globally and by log type.

Follow the instructions below with caution. You cannot recover deleted logs.

Purge logs globally

You can purge all logs in the database by modifying the global data retention settings as follows:

  1. Navigate to Log database management > Log types management.

  2. Click Change period in the Current global data retention time widget.

  3. Under Retention time (days), enter 1 for the days to retain your data.

  4. Click Save.

This method does not delete your data immediately. Data deletion runs once a day at midnight UTC (00:00).

Purge logs by type

You can purge logs by type for a specific date range as follows:

  1. Navigate to Log database management > Log types management.

  2. In the Log type settings table, click the Actions menu for the log type you want to delete and choose Delete logs.

    NXLog Platform delete logs
  3. Select the Start and End dates in the Delete log data panel.

  4. Click Delete.

  5. Verify the log deletion details and click Apply.

    This procedure takes effect immediately.

Purging logs by type will only delete the log records, not the log type. See Delete a log type if you also want to remove the log type from NXLog Platform.
