NXLog Platform support policy

NXLog maintains a regular release cycle. Products use the X.Y.Z versioning scheme, where:

  • X denotes the major release version.

  • Y denotes the minor version. Minor releases provide enhancements and features that are always backward-compatible within that major version.

  • Z denotes the revision number when we release a hotfix.

We provide long-term support for each major release for up to 1 year following the next version release. Major releases may contain breaking changes. We test upgrades from the previous version, and upgrading between major versions may require manual steps.

For an optimal experience and access to the latest features, we encourage you to upgrade your installations to the newest version.

Supported versions

The following table lists the NXLog Platform and NXLog Agent versions with their release and end-of-support dates. The release date indicates the public availability of the major version. End-of-support marks when NXLog will stop providing enhancements and bug fixes for that version.

NXLog Agent compatibility

NXLog Platform currently supports the following NXLog Agent versions:

  • NXLog Agent 5.10 or later.

  • NXLog Agent 6.2 or later.

Consider regularly updating your agents, as each NXLog Agent version provides new features that improve the compatibility with NXLog Platform. For example, NXLog Agent 6.4 and later versions support auto-enrollment to NXLog Platform on installation, greatly simplifying the agent enrollment process.
