Enroll an agent

Agent enrollment is the step that immediately follows installing the agent and configuring its managed.conf file. Enrolling sends the agent a TLS certificate and a public key for identification and secure communication.

After enrolling an agent, you still need to configure it before it can start collecting and forwarding logs.

NXLog Platform provides two methods for enrolling agents:

Enroll an agent manually: The manual method allows you to enroll agents one at a time. It is suitable for enrolling small numbers of agents or when identifying the agent type using an automatic rule is not possible.
Set up automatic agent enrollment: The automatic method is suitable for large-scale agent deployments. It relies on rules that select agents based on their properties such as hostname or IP address.
