Create a configuration
The Configurations page in NXLog Platform allows you to create NXLog Agent configurations that you can apply to multiple agents. It is a graphical, drag-and-drop builder where you can select your log source, destination, and actions to perform on the logs. Log in to your NXLog Platform account and follow the steps below to create a configuration.
-
Navigate to Agents > Configurations, then click Add configuration.
-
In the Configuration details panel, provide a name and optional comment for your configuration.
-
Drag and drop the required log source from the Collect from list to an empty Collect from module slot to configure the log source.
-
Drag and drop the required destination from the Send to list to an empty Send to module slot to configure the output.
-
You can also process your logs - like changing the format - using an action. Drag the required action from the Actions list and drop it onto an Action slot. The action slot is only visible after a module slot is populated.
-
Click Save configuration to create the configuration. If you haven’t finished the configuration and want to continue later, click Save draft to create a draft. Draft configurations cannot be assigned to agents.
Using the View configuration as text switch, you can toggle between the graphical configuration builder and the text editor. Changes are automatically synced between the two modes. When using the text editor, you can:
-
Start typing to view sugestions for available directives and values.
-
Drag-and-drop modules and actions from the lists on the left-hand side to the text editor.
