Create a configuration template

The Configuration Information page in NXLog Platform allows you to create an NXLog Agent configuration template that you can apply to multiple agents. It is a graphical, drag-and-drop builder where you can select your log source, destination, and processes to perform on the logs. Log in to your NXLog Platform account and follow the steps below to create a configuration template.

  1. Navigate to Agents > Configurations Overview, then click Add new template.

  2. In the Configuration Information panel, provide the name and an optional comment for your configuration.

  4. Drag and drop the required destination from the Send to snippets list to an empty Send to module slot to configure the output.

  5. You can also process your logs - like changing the format - using a process. Drag the required process from the Processes snippets list and drop it onto a Process slot. The process slot is only visible after a module slot is populated.

  6. Click Save Configuration to create the configuration template. If you haven’t finished the template and want to continue later, click Save Draft to create a configuration template draft. Configuration template drafts cannot be assigned to agents.

Using the View as configuration text switch, you can toggle between the graphical configuration builder and the text-based editor. Changes are automatically synced between the two modes.
